Mangham Georgia

The Town of Mangham, a small town on the Georgia coast with a bit of an artsy yet southern character, the nearby air force base Fort Holiday is a major economic force for the town, along with the tourism industry based on visiting things like the Jadebranch Plantation House (allegedly haunted), eco tourists coming to see the swamps and the nearby Gullah corridor, along with fans of the popular Southern Gothic drama series “Thus Shouts the Soul” filmed in the next town over (right past the high school actually). The town is mostly lower-middle to upper class, but there are poorer residents in the Harmony Village housing projects, who are somewhat resented by the upper class folks for bring down the property values and school test scores. There aren’t many chain eateries in town, since the local restaurants, such the Partner’s Pizza joint and the Pita are just that good, but shopping is mostly done at chain big box stores or amazon, with the upper class residents shopping at The Avenues (nothing but over priced clothing and electronics).

The town is divided into a series of “villages” each with it’s own shopping center and housing developments, ranging from the rather nice Broughton village to the somewhat grungy McKendrick village. the town has a library and all the other public services except or public transit, which is unneeded due to the golf cart paths
